CEJHS students and staff gathered today for a character assembly focusing on our Character Trait of the Month: Empathy. During the assembly, Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Friedel performed a short skit to demonstrate what empathy looks like in everyday situations.

Students learned that empathy means trying to understand how another person may be feeling and choosing to respond with kindness and understanding. The skit reminded students that we may not always be able to fix someone’s problem, but we can listen, show compassion, include others, and offer support.

Throughout the month, students will have opportunities to be recognized for demonstrating empathy. Students may be nominated by both peers and staff to receive weekly WOW Awards — Warriors of Wonder — for showing the character trait in their words and actions. At the end of the month, students from each class will also be nominated as Student of the Month based on how they have demonstrated empathy.

By encouraging students to recognize and practice positive character traits, CEJHS continues to promote kindness, respect, and what it means to live the Warrior Way!
